South Africa doesn’t have a farming problem. It has an access problem. The Rural Box Foundation is an agricultural impact organization focused on unlocking the full potential of smallholder farmers. We work at the intersection of agriculture, economic inclusion, sustainability, and rural transformation – creating systems that help farmers become more visible, bankable, investable, and market ready. Our work bridges the gap between opportunity and access. We believe rural and peri-urban communities should not be left behind in the future of agriculture.

Our model is inspired by the pigeon loft - where every farmer is known, nurtured, and prepared. We provide the essentials: nutrition, training, systems, and market access - equipping farmers to step confidently onto the world stage.
But they are never alone. Because the strength of the loft is: you can always return. Return for knowledge, support, and community.
